Overview

Deal Properties is where you set up the custom fields your team fills in on every deal for the selected client, such as budget, lead source or contract term. Each property shows in the Properties section of every deal and becomes its own column in the deal CSV export. You can add, rename, reorder, archive and restore properties, and edit dropdown options. Nothing here deletes a saved value.

How to use this page

  1. Open Deal Properties

Choose the client in the sidebar, then open Deals > Properties, or select Properties in the Deals pipeline header. You can also select Manage properties or Add properties in the Properties section of any deal. All deals takes you back to the pipeline.

  2. Add a property

Under Add a property, type a Name (up to 80 characters) and pick a Type: Text, Number, Date or Dropdown. Select Add property, or press Enter in the name field. For a Dropdown, list the options one per line in the box that appears, then select Add property. The new property shows on every deal right away.

  3. Rename or reorder

Click into a property's name, edit it and press Enter or click away to save. Use the up and down arrows beside a property to change its order. That order is the order fields appear on each deal and columns appear in the export.

  4. Edit dropdown options

On a Dropdown property, select Options to open its list. Edit the options one per line and select Save options, or select Close options to leave without saving. Removing an option does not change deals that already use it.

  5. Archive or restore

Select Archive on a property and confirm. It disappears from deals and the export, but values already saved are kept. Select Show archived to see archived properties, and Restore to bring one back with its saved values.

What the buttons do

All deals
Returns to the Deals pipeline.
Name / Type
The new property's name and its kind of value: Text, Number, Date or Dropdown. The type cannot be changed once the property is added.
Add property
Creates the property. Greyed out until a name is entered (and, for a Dropdown, at least one option), or when you already have 50 active properties.
Move up / Move down
Changes the order of active properties on deals and in the export.
Property name box
Edit to rename. Saves when you press Enter or leave the box. A name already used by another property is refused and the old name comes back.
Options (number) / Close options
Shown on Dropdown properties. Opens or closes the option editor. Save options saves the list.
Archive
Asks for confirmation, then hides the property from deals and the export. Saved values are kept.
Show archived / Hide archived
Shows or hides the list of archived properties. Only appears when at least one is archived.
Restore
Makes an archived property active again. Greyed out while 50 properties are active.
Retry
Appears if the list could not load, and loads it again.

Common questions

Up to 50 active at once. Archive one to add another. Across active and archived together, a pipeline can hold up to 200.
No. The type is fixed once the property is added so saved values stay valid. To change it, archive the property and add a new one with the right type.
No. Archiving only hides the property from deals and the export. Restore it and every saved value comes back.
Names must be unique for this client, ignoring capitals and extra spaces. If an archived property already has the name, restore that one instead.
They keep the old value. On the deal it still shows, marked No longer an option, until someone picks a new one.
Recreate the custom deal properties your team fills in there, using the matching type. Each one then shows on every deal and in the export.
It needs the same Deals access as creating a deal for this client. If you lack it, the page shows a message instead of the list.
