Overview

List Building Chat is the AI contact-discovery workspace for the selected client. Describe who you want to find in plain language, refine the structured search criteria, set company and department headcount criteria, set the preview scope, and run a vendor search. Results load into a paged preview on the right. Contacts per company starts at Unlimited, or you can choose a numeric cap for the rows shown and eligible for redemption. Download CSV retrieves the complete preview range for the current criteria, while Redeem preview pulls selected preview rows into the client's contacts. Previewing matches does not spend credits; redeeming full contact data spends ZoomInfo credits.

How to use this page

  1. Select the client

Pick the client in the top-right switcher so discovered contacts belong to that deal.

  2. Describe your target

Tell the AI who you want to find, including titles, company criteria, locations to include, and states or provinces to exclude. It turns your description into structured search criteria. ZoomInfo targeting in this chat is limited to the United States; accepting a province exclusion such as Quebec does not add Canadian coverage.

  3. Refine the criteria

Adjust titles, seniority and function, keywords, industries, SIC or NAICS codes, technology, geography, company size, revenue, and required fields. Use OR and NOT where the field supports Boolean filtering. In Company size, Department employee count filters companies by a function headcount, such as 50+ Sales Employees. It is separate from total company employees and the contact department, and can be combined with company hashtags.

  4. Set the preview scope

In Quality & display, Results per page controls the page size. Contacts per company starts at Unlimited; choose 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, or 25 to cap the rows shown and eligible for redemption on the current preview page. Score, required-field, sort, and suppression controls further shape the visible rows.

  5. Run the search

Click Run search to load the first preview page and the total match count. Use the pager below the results to inspect additional pages. Previewing validates targeting without spending credits.

  6. Download or redeem

Download CSV retrieves the complete preview range for the current criteria across all result pages, not just the page currently visible. Redeem preview uses the currently shown rows after the company cap and suppression filter, asks for confirmation because it spends ZoomInfo credits, adds the returned contacts to the client's pool, and downloads an enriched CSV. The success toast reports returned contacts and any unmatched requested IDs.

Contacts per company
Starts at Unlimited and optionally caps the rows shown and eligible for redemption on the current preview page.
Run search
Runs the current criteria through ZoomInfo and loads a paged preview with the total match count.

Redeem preview
Pulls the currently shown preview rows into Contacts and downloads an enriched CSV. It spends ZoomInfo credits after confirmation and reports returned and unmatched counts.

Common questions

No. Previewing matches and downloading the preview CSV do not redeem contact data. Redeeming full contact data spends ZoomInfo credits, and the confirmation dialog shows the number of rows being redeemed.
It starts at Unlimited, so the current preview page keeps every returned contact per company. Choosing 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, or 25 caps the rows shown per company and the rows eligible for Redeem preview. Download CSV still retrieves the complete preview range for the search criteria.
It retrieves the complete preview range across all result pages for the current criteria, not only the page currently visible in the table. Large result sets are partitioned by contact accuracy when needed to stay within the provider's per-query pagination boundary.
The enriched CSV downloads with the contacts ZoomInfo returned. After the download, the success toast reports the returned count. If any requested IDs had no match, it also says how many were unmatched out of the requested count.
Both find prospects. List Building Chat is an AI-guided, multi-vendor discovery flow for list builders; Contact Search is the direct Apify finder with a client allowance.
Employees min and max describe total company size. Department targets the contact role. Department employee count filters the company by a function headcount, such as its Sales team size.
Yes. Ask for it in the chat, for example companies with 10 or more locations. The AI adds a ZoomInfo locations tag to the search: 2+, 5+, 10+, 25+, 50+, 100+ or 250+ Locations for a minimum, or a Fewer than N locations tag for a ceiling. There is no separate picker for it in Search criteria, and changing Company hashtags or Department employee count keeps the tag in place.
SalesHive team members can always use it. Because list building tools use paid data and research credits, a client login can use List Building Chat only when the workspace's package includes list building. Otherwise the whole List Building folder is hidden from the client's sidebar, and opening the page directly shows a note saying List Building Chat is part of list building, with a suggestion to ask the SalesHive team about adding it.
